What if my child is an average athlete or
is just beginning wrestling?
The camp is not designed for kids to get down on themselves
if he or she is not keeping up with the other kids. It is
based on positive reinforcement for each participant's individual
effort. The coaches pay close attention to them and make sure
that they improve at their own level of ability. If your child
is just beginning, the camp is ideal for them. They will learn
exactly what the sport of wrestling is all about and what
it takes to excel on the wrestling mat.
Is the camp advanced enough for my child?
We feel that it is very important to challenge each child
with raising their skill level and focus to a higher level.
We make a special effort to ensure every participant gains
some valuable experience and knowledge from the coaching staff.
We make sure the kids are matched up with others of the same
talent level
What if my child cannot attend all days?
We will charge you on a pro-rated basis for the number of
day(s) attended. Just give us a call to make arrangements.

What is the coach to participant ratio?
The optimum teaching takes place when you have one coach for
every 12-15 campers. We always try to maintain those standards
at the camp. It really helps us with organization if the parent's
have their registration forms in early so we can keep these
optimal camp ratios.
What is the maximum number of kids that you
let in the camp?
Each camp that we run is different. Depending on the location
and availability of coaches, we limit the amount of participants
to as low as 50 and as high as 100. EARLY Registration is
encouraged to not be left out of the camp!
Can the parent's stay and watch?
You are more than welcome to stay and watch every session
throughout the camp.
Is there someone available if my child is
injured?
A training staff will be on hand for all minor injuries and
preventative care. Medical clinics and a hospital are near
the camp facilities and a mobile phone is on-site for emergency
situations.
Who actually runs the camp?
The camp coordinator is Todd Beckerman 301-261-6159
Who are the coaches?
We have assembled a coaching staff
that has a wide range of college and international wrestling
experience. This allows a child to relate to different levels
of success throughout the camp. As you will see under BIOS,
the AAWCS clinicians have been very successful in the sport
of wrestling throughout the years of training and learning
to beat the Best. Our staff also features top local high school
coaches who have a proven track record of wonderful teaching
skills and top college wrestlers involved in addition to local
high school athletes who really relate to the kids.
Can you explain what you do during the camp?
Our camps are focused on learning new techniques and drills
in the sport of wrestling. We stress fundamentals, form and
technique with our focus on quality instruction for each and
every kid in a fun atmosphere. We not only hope to teach them
skills to make them better athletes, we hope to stimulate
their general interest in sports. This will include an emphasis
on good work habits, self-discipline, motivation and self-confidence.
Our camp sessions are fun, upbeat, and crisp in tempo. We
want the campers to be aware that this is not playtime, but
a place to further develop their athletic skills. It is our
sincere hope that what we present to the kids is taken to
heart and applied to wrestling and their everyday life.
